Meet the incredible GCOMM people.
Peter Thompson, Founder/Managing Director
Peter Thompson founded GCOMM in 1996. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering/Information Systems from Griffith University and his MBA from Nyenrode Business Universiteit in Holland. A true rennaissance man, he speaks several languages, plays violin and has travelled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and America. He believes in building great teams of people, both in business and socially.
Daniel Thompson, Director
Dan's career with GCOMM began in 1999 after completing a Science Degree with Honours. He worked his way up from Y2K compliance work at GCOMM's to the Managing Director role and has been at the helm for many years. He loves all things motorbikes, music, surfing, tech and science. He is currently living in Melbourne where he works on development projects, but makes a weekly track to the Gold Coast and the GCOMM family.
Glenn Reilly, Chief Operations Officer
Glenn has been working at GCOMM since 2007, initially in a consulting role and then becoming the Chief Operating Officer. Having worked in various industries around the world, Glenn brings a considerable degree of experience and knowledge. With a business undergraduate degree and several postgraduate studies, he enjoys using this knowledge to benefit the company. He loves working in the IT industry and believes in delivering the ultimate service to GCOMM clients.
Adam Tessieri, General Manager
Adam Tessieri has been working with GCOMM since 1998. During this time, Adam has had many roles within the company. He has also worked for an NTT Australia subsidiary in Sydney during 1999-2000 and was a key project member in the development of an ERP system for their Australian operations. A true wine connoisseur, he travelled around Europe through 2003-05, which “has been a fantastic experience”.
Steve Cannard, Infrastructure Deployment Manager
Steve joined GCOMM in 1999 to run Sales & Account Management. In 2008 he took on the role of IT & Consulting Manager. The GCOMM IT Services division now stands as a fully-fledged Managed Services Provider (MSP) with recognised industry certifications. Steve has been deeply involved in shaping the tools and strategy that position GCOMM’s future growth. His main focus is maintaining relationships with GCOMM clients to provide the best advice and excellent service. A committed family man, Steve is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys surfing, fishing and fitness.
Michael Bellears, National Network Manager
Michael Bellears has been working with GCOMM since 1999. He has always enjoyed using computers and was accepted into a Computer Science degree at Deakin University. At GCOMM he is now responsible for the management and operation of GCOMM’s WAN network. He has travelled extensively throughout Europe and Egypt. He is married and has two young children, his “greatest accomplishment”.
Todd Brooker, National Wholesale Manager
Todd started with GCOMM in 2001 as a Systems Engineer. In 2003, started account managing his own customer base. In 2005 he took time off from GCOMM to work in London and travel Europe. He worked for the London Underground as a Project Manager, and rolled out the command centre for Metronet. He returned to GCOMM in 2007, and the following year he became the National Wholesale Manager. Todd loves fishing, camping, four-wheel driving, keeping fit and is a true outdoorsman.
Matthew Thompson, Business Development Manager
Matthew joined GCOMM in 1999 in a Sales and Strategic Accounts role. Matt relocated to Sydney recently, where he is responsible for driving new strategic relationships with both clients and vendors. He has a Business degree with a major in Marketing and Management from Griffith University. He sits on the Gold Coast City Council Regional IT Broadband committee and regularly represents GCOMM at various conferences, forums and business awards.
Mary Lim, Operations Manager
Mary has been working with GCOMM since 2006 in a sales support role. Within six months she became Key Account Manager, managing the requirements of approximately 100 businesses. Mary received her Bachelor’s in Psychology from University of South Australia, followed by a Master's of Information Technology Management with High Distinction from Bond University and a Master's of Communication from Bond University in 2005. She has recently become the mother of a baby boy.
Joanne Hayes, Business Analyst & IS Manager
Joanne Hayes hails from Taiwan. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Economics at Soochou in Taiwan and gained her Master’s degree in Human Resource Management at London School of Economics in the UK. Prior to working for GCOMM, she worked for Acer Inc. as Project Coordinator for 3 years. Joanne started as a Systems Engineer and is now a Business Analyst. Joanne enjoys traveling and is a great cook.
Jay Lehnert, Solutions Architect
Jay has been working with GCOMM since 2002. Over the years, he has worked in many positions inside the company. He has been responsible for the design and implementation of many of the new backend systems, which helps GCOMM continue to provide the service levels that clients have come to expect. With the diverse environment that GCOMM works in, he has developed a broad skill set as well as accomplished an array of industry recognised certifications with Cisco, Microsoft and VMware. He enjoys camping, hiking and generally anything to do with the great outdoors.
Shaun Murphy, Support and Provisioning Team Leader
Shaun Murphy has been with GCOMM since 2008, originally starting off in a Support and Provisioning role. He was recently promoted to Team leader for the Support and Provisioning teams, leading and improving GCOMM support and provisioning systems. He works to improve his knowledge and skills in order to give a better experience to all customers. He is a motorcycle man who travels extensively and can teach you a thing or two about fine Scotch.
Peter Szweryn, Support & Provisioning Engineer
Peter has been with GCOMM since 2006. He’s had a number of roles within the company ever since, from ISP Support to provisioning, server builds and setting up complex network configurations. Peter is very patient and a true problem solver. He believes in great customer service and is always willing to go the extra mile. He enjoys films and music. Like many others at GCOMM, Peter enjoys travelling very much.
Joseph Kairouz, Support & Provisioning Engineer
Joseph has worked in the IT Industry for over 5 years now. Working for GCOMM has been the highlight of his career, working as part of the team of Support and Provisioning engineers. He has had a range of diverse roles outside of GCOMM, working as a VoIP Engineer and Systems Engineer. Joseph is a great sportsman with a long list of achievements, a true team player who translates sporstsmanship values into a superb customer care.
Troy Winch, Systems Engineer
Troy has been working for GCOMM since 2008. Troy started out his career as a phone support technician for a telecommunication company part time and went on to study and achieve a diploma in IT networking at Australia College of Information Technology. In April 2011, he completed a course in Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure and Configuration and is now a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS). He plans to do further study to obtain his Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional (MCITP) qualification.
Vicki Honey, Accounts Administrator
Vicki received her degree in Early Childhood Education and devoted herself to building a career in childcare. She became the Assistant to the Chief Operations Officer/Accounts Manager in 2008. Vicki covers many bases within the company including – payroll, HR Duties, AR, AP and other office duties. She is a mother of a beautiful five-year-old daughter, which she says "is her greatest achievement”.
